MELBOURNEfc members made history today by passing the Club's all time total membership tally.

The previous membership record tally of 28,077, set in 2007, has now surged to 28,302, with 10 days remaining until the 30 June AFL membership cut-off date.

There have been over 1000 members join since Jim Stynes was appointed as the new President of MELBOURNEfc a week ago.

Stynes was excited by the news, and with the 28,302 members who are showing their support for their team.

"To pass last year's record membership tally is terrific news, and it's fantastic that our current members are continuing to show their support, along with others who are getting back on board.

"We need to continue to increase our supporter base and encourage all those who haven't renewed or signed up to do so before the June 30 cut-off.

"We are 150 years old, but need to make sure that we are around for the next 150 years and every supporter who becomes a member will be a part of it.

"This will give us a good base to build on for next season, and we will continue to grow toward 35,000 members over the next few years.

"I  would  like to congratulate our members on today's record, and encourage them to sign up their friends and family as members of our wonderful Club."
