GEELONG has denied reports it is chasing West Coast's Brad Ebert.

The Eagle has requested a move to his home state to play for either Port Adelaide or Adelaide, but reports on Wednesday suggested the 21-year-old had been chased by the Cats.

Geelong's football manager Neil Balme emphatically denied they were keen on Ebert.

"Who? We certainly haven't spoken to Brad," Balme told afl.com.au's Trade Week Radio. "That's not true."

Balme also revealed that Hawthorn was pursuing Geelong's Tom Gillies, but said the young defender was very much part of the Cats' future.

"Hawthorn are interested in Tom Gillies, but he's very much required and a contracted player here so I'm not quite sure what their strategy is there but I don't reckon he's going anywhere," he said.

In other trade news, Balme said Geelong would not stand in the way of ruckman Mark Blake finding a new home, with Brad Ottens expected to go around for another season.

Along with Ottens, fellow veteran David Wojcinski is expected to play on in 2012.

"We're certainly expecting David and Brad to play on," Balme said.

"That hasn't been completely decided, but we're pretty sure that's what will happen. The coach just needs to talk to the boys to make sure where they are and what they're doing and how they want to do it, but we're pretty confident they'll both play."
