Don't know if this would be of any interest, but was browsing the net and punched in a few names. Col Williamson was known to me as Uncle Col. In the 50's to late 60's he lived across the street from us in Bentleigh. As I recall, he was very tall and was in the police force, often manning the Rosebud Station during the Xmas break. His eldest daughter married Ray Baxter a Footscray player who at that time was a car salesman for a local dealership in Brighton.

Col was the uncle of David Williamson - playwright. Col's brother also lived in the same street for some time and his mother lived only a street or so away. When I was a child Mrs Williamson Snr would often baby sit me.

My memory of uncle Col is his amazing hair and a BIG smile.

I adored him, he was a gentle giant in my eyes and he was blessed with a wonderful family.

We lost touch when we moved from Bentleigh and then Col & Irene moved to Sydney or Queensland.

Yours
Jo Patman
