On the last day of Trade Week, the St Kilda Football Club has reluctantly traded Tommy Walsh to the Sydney Swans for pick 35 and 68 in the National Draft.

The St Kilda Football Club has turned three picks inside 68 to six picks inside 68 and two exciting new players in Terry Milera and Ahmed Saad.

General Manager of Player List and Legal Affairs, Ameet Bains said the Walsh trade was the only low-light to a successful Trade Week for the Saints.

“Tom Walsh indicated to the Club that he wanted to make the move to Sydney,” said Ameet Bains.

“The Club reluctantly engaged in discussions with the Sydney Swans on the last day of Trade Week when it was clear that Tommy wouldn’t be returning to the Saints.”

New senior coach, Scott Watters, spoke to Tommy at length this morning to assure him of the opportunity for him at St Kilda which came on the back of a new contract offer and elevation to the primary list.

“The Club, and no doubt Saints supporters, are disappointed but every effort was made to convince Tommy to stick around.”

At the end of Trade Week, the St Kilda Football Club has secured two exciting new recruits, Terry Milera and Ahmed Saad, as well as six picks inside 68.

“Originally, the Saints had just three picks inside 68 so to end the week with six picks inside 68 and two new players is a good result,” said Ameet Bains.

“The addition of Terry Milera and Ahmed Saad to the squad is obviously really exciting and we will go into the National Draft with lots of opportunities.”

St Kilda will go to the National Draft with pick 25, 35, 37, 42, 60 and 68.
