The Ladybirds launched the 2010 AFL season with a breakfast at the MCG on Thursday 1 April 2010.

The morning commenced with a Ladybirds welcome from MC Helen Kapalos.

Guest speakers Jackie Epstein from the Herald Sun and five-time Winter Olympian Jacqui Cooper joined Helen on stage for a question and answer session regarding their career, career goals, key people who have helped them succeed and advice for anyone wanting to take that next step in their career.

Jacqui Cooper provided an amazing insight into life as an Olympian and her goals for the future, plus her thoughts on her career moving forward.

Following breakfast, guests were then treated to an insight into life as an AFL footballer, as Rick Ladson, Grant Birchall and Assistant Coach John Barker acknowledged the women in their life.

John Barker spoke fondly about his relationship with his wife Sarah and also with his mother, both of whom helped him in his transition from player to coach.

Both players and John then participated in a quiz about successful women from the past and present, with each player playing for an audience member.

John was the clear winner, with a $200 gift voucher from our Ladybirds partner ANI Jewellery, given to his audience member Caryn Clarkson.

Thank you for those in attendance and for your support of the Club.

We look forward to seeing you at our more Ladybirds events in the future.
