COLLINGWOOD midfielder Scott Pendlebury - the man in the middle of the row between Eddie McGuire and Kevin Sheedy - will stay at the club, according to his father.

And the club says it does not expect to lose any of its players at the end of next year.

Pendlebury's dad, Bruce, told Melbourne's sports radio station SEN that his son's long-term future was "most definitely" at the Magpies.

However, Bruce did put his other son, Kris, on the table.

"[Scott] is quite happy where he is, but for the oldest boy [Kris], if Kevin Sheedy is listening he might dangle the carrot and take my oldest boy who is the [Magpies'] VFL captain," Bruce said

When asked if Scott would stay at the Pies, Bruce said: "Yeah, most definitely. He can't wait for Nathan Buckley to take over either, so it's a good move by the club."

The brilliant Magpie midfielder has been topical in recent days for he only has a one-year contract with Collingwood, and rumours have been circulating that he is a target of Sheedy's club, Greater Western Sydney.

During the week Collingwood president McGuire said he would make it his life ambition to destroy the Giants if they poached Pendlebury.

Adding fuel to the fire, Sheedy said Collingwood should be nervous.

The Herald Sun reports that Collingwood chief executive Gary Pert also believes Pendlebury will stay at the club.

"We don't talk about individual re-signings and contracts," he said.

"We have managed to re-sign all our key players who we needed for next year. We will continue to do that on a rolling basis.

"We are very conscious of the dynamics of the industry at the moment, but there is certainly no one we would expect to lose."

Pert also said the club had "no interest whatsoever" in fallen star Brendan Fevola, who was sacked from the Brisbane Lions at the start of this year.
