RICHMOND forward Mitch Morton has taken leave from the club for a short period to "deal with a personal issue", according to a club media release.
The said: "Richmond will continue to support Mitch during this time and expect he will return to the club in the near future."
The club said it would not elaborate or make any further comment.
Morton was the club's leading goalkicker in 2009 with 41 goals. He last played in Richmond's round three loss to Hawthorn.
He started his career at West Coast before crossing to Richmond at the end of 2007.
