Hawthorn’s newly appointed Captain Luke Hodge has added the Ascend Club Player of the Year to the swag of awards he gathered at the 2010 Peter Crimmins Medal.

The award, presented by the Hawks’ official nutritional partner Ascend, was voted for each week throughout the season at hawthornfc.com.au by you - members and supporters of Hawthorn Football Club.

Hodge secured a huge 16,267 votes, which was closely followed by Lance Franklin in second place.

Hodge, who accepted the award from Stewart Davey, Ascend’s International Sales and Marketing Manager, was gracious in his thanks to Ascend and Hawks fans.

“Firstly, I would like to thank Ascend for their ongoing support throughout the year.

Ascend has helped aid the team’s recovery process after each match, which is crucial in today’s modern game,” he said.

“I would also like to thank those members and supporters for your unwavering support during what was an up-and-down year for our Club.

“I look forward to seeing you all in your brown and gold in Round 1 next year,” Hodge said.
