Brisbane Lions midfielder Michael Rischitelli has figured prominently in the nominations for this year’s AFL Player’s Association Most Valuable Player Awards.

The AFLPA MVP Awards, which are to be held on Monday night in Melbourne, are fast becoming one of the most respected and prestigious awards in football.

Rischitelli has been nominated by his fellow Lions players in both the most valuable player and most courageous player categories.

Joining the 24 year-old as nominations from the Lions are Simon Black and Jonathan Brown in the most valuable player category, while youngster Ryan Harwood was nominated for the best first-year player award.

The AFLPA MVP Awards are the only awards determined by players themselves.

The winner will be announced on Monday 6 September at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium and will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 from 9.30pm.
