KURT TIPPETT's father has confirmed he is cooperating with an AFL investigation into his son's 2009 contract.
Gold Coast property developer Tony Tippett was reluctant to comment when contacted by AFL.com.au saying it wasn't the "appropriate" time and he'd been advised not to.
But he did confirm he and his son are cooperating with League inquiries.
"We've done everything that's been asked of us, yes," Tippett snr said.
Tippett's comments come after it was revealed the investigation into alleged draft tampering by the Crows appeared to have taken another twist with reports emerging that there may have been a breach of the salary cap as well.
The Age reported that the League is looking into correspondence in 2009 between the Crows and Velocity Sports, the company that manages Kurt Tippett.
There are reportedly suggestions in the correspondence not only of an arrangement to trade Tippett to the club of his choice at the end of his contract, but of an additional financial arrangement, neither of which were disclosed to the AFL as part of his contract.
Adelaide's Advertiser raised the prospect that the third-party breach might relate to the Crows paying Joel Tippett, Kurt's brother, to move from the Gold Coast to Adelaide in 2012 to help ease Kurt's homesickness.
Joel played two games for Gold Coast in 2011 and joined SANFL club West Adelaide this year.
The League announced on Wednesday it was investigating the matter and the Crows are facing the prospect of heavy sanctions for both the trade clause and the third-party financial agreement.
A mitigating factor for the Crows may be that they volunteered this information to the AFL, but they reportedly did so after threats from lawyers representing Tippett to take the matter to the Supreme Court if his requested trade to the Sydney Swans did not proceed.
The AFL is refusing to comment on the matter other than to say that the investigation was ongoing and that Gillette AFL Trade Period would finish as scheduled at 2pm Friday.
