CARLTON star Andrew Walker was awfully stiff not to win the AFL Mark of the Year in 2011 after his monstrous mark against Essendon at the MCG.
But he nevertheless had plenty of opinions - and first-hand experience - to bring to bear when asked to nominate his best 10 spectacular marks of the last 25 years for AFL.com.au's Personal Best series.

Walker was close by when Nic Naitanui soared over teammate Bret Thornton at Etihad Stadium last year and that mark features in his top 10.
"He got up pretty high," he said. "On the day they always seem bigger and it was good to see one up close in real life."
Poor old Thornton. Walker pointed out that the veteran Carlton defender was also close by in 2009 when Adelaide's Brett Burton also took a huge mark at Etihad Stadium, which also made it on to Walker's list.
A feature of Walker's mark against the Bombers was last season was that he climbed so high that he was able to cradle the ball in his stomach. The same with Melbourne's Shaun Smith with his round 22 mark at the Gabba against the Brisbane Bears, which also gets a run in Walker's list.
Liam Jurrah and Tony Modra also feature among Walker's compilation but his choice for No.1 elicited controversy at the time and is still hotly-debated today. To see it, and his entire top 10, click here.
