Blues spearhead Brendan Fevola will have surgery on Thursday following scans earlier this week.
Fevola, who was ruled out for the remainder of the season after injuring his adductor against Essendon at the MCG on Saturday will have surgery on his shoulder, thumb and a finger.
"We arranged for Brendan to have a number of scans after he injured his adductor on Saturday. Results have revealed that Brendan will require an arthroscope on his left shoulder, as well as surgery to his left thumb and left fifth finger," said General Manager Football Operations Steven Icke.
Meanwhile Bret Thornton underwent arthroscopic surgery on his injured right ankle on Monday morning and he is expected to return to full training in 6 to 8 weeks time.
