Tony Armstrong produced a best on ground effort in North Adelaide’s win over West Adelaide on the weekend.
Playing across half back, Armstrong’s ball use and work ethic was of a high standard as was his contested ball. He finished with 20 kicks and five handballs.
Brad Moran started as a tall defender for West Adelaide but hurt his calf in the first quarter and played no further part in the game.
In South Adelaide’s big win over Glenelg, Myke Cook was a key contributor to the victory for the Panthers. Playing in defence, he had 21 possessions and eight marks, provided good run from the backlines and also finished with a goal.
Shaun McKernan kicked four last quarter goals to also help the Panthers. He played in the ruck and predominantly up forward and was very influential late in the game, finishing with 13 possessions.
Jarryd Lyons played in the midfield for Glenelg with most of his possessions in close and contested, collecting nine kicks and six handballs. James Sellar had 14 possessions and 12 hitouts in the ruck for the Tigers and played with a lot of energy.
In the SANFL reserves, Brodie Martin was a guest player with South Adelaide and had 18 possessions in the midfield and at half back.
Will Young had 19 possessions, eight marks and kicked two goals for Norwood and tried hard all day. James Craig played mainly in the ruck with a stint up forward for North Adelaide and had 10 possessions, along with Lachlan Roach who played on the wing and at half back.
Sturt and Central District finish off the split round this weekend while the Eagles have the bye.
