De Boer, who was elevated to Fremantle's main list on Thursday, will give Fremantle coach Mark Harvey another run-with option to combat Geelong's premiership winning midfield.
Experienced duo Steven Dodd and Kepler Bradley, and rookie Nathan Fyfe have been named as emergencies and remain on standby if Chris Tarrant fails a fitness test on his ankle.
Fremantle's chances of upsetting the reigning premiers were given another boost following the withdrawal of Cats' ruckman Brad Ottens, who joins bookends Cameron Mooney and Matthew Scarlett on the sidelines.
