PORT Adelaide key forward Jay Schulz will return for the run into the finals in a boost to the Power's finals aspirations.
Schulz has been sidelined since the Power's opening round victory against St Kilda after having back surgery.
The 31-year-old is now likely to return within three to five weeks, putting him on track for the club's first game after the bye when Port hosts Richmond in round 15 at the Adelaide Oval on July 1.
"It's been a week-to-week thing for Schulzy, seeing how he responds to rehab and slowly getting him to where he needs to be," Darren Burgess told the club's website.
"We're pretty comfortable with where he's at and we hope to get him back before the bye, although just after is a more likely estimate."
The injury list: Your club's sidelined players
Schulz has kicked 266 goals in 117 games for Port Adelaide since coming across from Richmond at the end of 2009.
Fellow forward Matt White, who is on the Power's long-term injury list, is slated to return from a pectoral injury in five to six weeks.
Defender Jack Hombsch will be assessed at training this week after coming off the ground with a hamstring injury in the Power's 45-point win against Melbourne at Alice Springs last Saturday.
