EVERY little detail is examined to within an inch of its life in football these days, so it goes without saying there were a number of interesting morsels to emerge out of this year's NAB AFL Draft.
AFL.com.au has taken a look at the draft by the numbers, with a number of quirky details to come out of it.
78 – 78 players were selected by clubs in this year's NAB AFL Draft.

2 – Fremantle's No.2 pick, which it used to select Andrew Brayshaw, was the club's highest draft selection in recent years. It took Stephen Hill with pick No.3 in 2008, the last year in which it had such a high pick.
8 – In a midfield-heavy draft, it was no surprise that the first eight picks are generally regarded as midfielders.
17 – The pick Jack Higgins, the highest-ranked player by stats company Champion Data, was selected with by reigning premier Richmond.
0 – This year was the first time in Greater Western Sydney's club history it did not have a pick inside the top 10.
49 – Essendon's pick No.49 (Jordan Houlahan) was the club's longest wait for a national draft selection in its history.
2 – The number of father-son draft selections – Patrick Naish (Richmond) and Tyler Brown (Collingwood).
5 – The number of Academy selections taken by clubs – Connor Ballenden (Brisbane Lions), Brayden Crossley (Gold Coast), Jack Payne (Brisbane Lions), Connor Nutting (Gold Coast) and Nick Shipley (Greater Western Sydney).

62 – The selection with which North Melbourne grabbed Kyron Hayden, who broke Nic Naitanui's long-standing running vertical jump record at the Combine, in this year's draft.
58 – 58 per cent of players were from Victoria in this year's Draft.
43 – The number of players selected from TAC Cup clubs.
2 – The number of players drafted from VFL clubs.
5 – The number of players drafted from SANFL club Sturt – Callum Coleman-Jones (Richmond), Jacob Ballard (Gold Coast), Jordan Houlahan (Essendon), Mitch Crowden (Fremantle) and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher (Essendon).

15 – The number of players selected out of the WAFL.
1 – Hugh Dixon was the only Tasmanian to be selected in the Draft. Dixon went to Fremantle with pick No.44.
6 – The number of players drafted out of the NEAFL competition.
7 – New Brisbane Lion Cameron Rayner became the TAC Cup's seventh-straight No.1 selection.
9 – The Eastern Ranges had the most number of players drafted out of any of the feeder clubs around the country.
60 – Collingwood, which used three selections in this year's draft, was the first club to pass its pick at No.60.
34 – Patrick Naish, the son of former Tiger Chris, became Richmond's first father-son draft choice since Tom Roach, the son of Michael, in 2003. Naish was selected with pick No.34.
24 – West Australian Tim Kelly, the first mature-age player taken in this year's draft, was selected by Geelong with pick No.24.
3 – The number of players with previous AFL experience – Dom Barry (ex-Melbourne, now Port Adelaide), Billy Hartung (ex-Hawthorn, now North Melbourne) and Jarrod Garlett (ex-Gold Coast, now Carlton).
