Sydney Swans player Jarred Moore was named the winner of the AFL Canberra 1st Division best and fairest award, the Mulrooney Medal, at a ceremony on Monday night.

Over the course of the 2007 season, during which he played 16 games for the reserves side, Moore collected 23 votes to win the award.  Teammate Ryan Brabazon came second, with 18 votes.

Swans Reserves players featured heavily in voting, with four of the top five places filled by Swans players.

The final tally was Moore (23), Brabazon (18), Mitch Daniher of the Queanbeyan tigers on 15, then Simon Philips and Kristin Thornton in equal fourth place, each with 13 votes.  Over the course of the 2007 season, eighteen individual Swans reserves players received votes.

The Swans Reserves will seek their third consecutive AFL Canberra 1st Division title on Sunday afternoon, when they face Queanbeyan at Manuka Oval, Canberra.  Tickets will be available at the gate.
