SUMMARY
So much for the Cats tumbling down the ladder. Two rounds into the season and they're unbeaten, sitting in fourth place on the ladder, and looking more ominous by the quarter.
Last weekend they beat Fremantle by 11 points in Perth, with Mathew Stokes kicking the sealing goal in the dying minutes.
Star midfielders Paul Chapman and Cameron Ling, who both missed Geelong's round one victory over St Kilda due to their interrupted preparations, were in great touch against the Dockers.
Vice-captain Joel Selwood has recovered from his bout of concussion and is certain to play, while full-back Matthew Scarlett will also be back after serving his suspension for whacking Nick Riewoldt.
Port Adelaide, on the other hand, has started its campaign with consecutive losses. Thrashed by Collingwood on the opening weekend of the season, the Power was unable to overcome West Coast at AAMI Stadium last Saturday. Making matters worse, they have lost midfielders Dom Cassisi and Steven Salopek to injuries.
QUESTION MARKS
Will Geelong ever lose another game at home? The Cats have won 23 matches in a row at Skilled Stadium. Their run of success dates back to round 21, 2007, when they suffered a five-point defeat at the hands of none other than Port Adelaide.
Will the trip to Perth last weekend result in the Cats being lethargic against the Power? Their new coach Chris Scott is adamant it won't be the case, but teams have a habit of struggling when they return from WA.
Is there life left in Chad Cornes? The Port Adelaide veteran booted two goals in his return match against the Eagles, yet he seemed off the pace for much of the afternoon.
PREDICTION
Geelong by 68 points
AFL DREAM TEAM WATCH
Paul Chapman was straight back to his best against the Dockers, picking up 101 points in his first serious hit-out for the year. While he's one of the most expensive players in the competition, he remains a must-have for many Dream Teamers.
