Collingwood premiership captain Murray Weideman has been invited by the AFL to be the presenter of the 2011 AFL Premiership Cup if the Magpies win the flag on Saturday.

As is traditional on Grand Final day, a representative for each competing club is on hand to present the winning team with the Cup on the dais.

Last year, Magpie great Peter McKenna had the honour.

Weideman played 180 games for the Magpies between 1953-63, kicking 262 goals.  He was Collingwood best and fairest in 1957, 1961 and 1962, Collingwood captain 1960-63 and captain of the 1958 premiership side, when standing in for the injured Frank Tuck.

He also played in the 1953 premiership side as a teenager and was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2007.

Geelong’s representative is premiership player Doug Wade, who kicked 834 goals in 208 games for the Cats.
