Essendon chairman Paul Little says his club's relationship with outgoing AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou had improved recently, with the parties putting aside the tension that lingered throughout last year's investigation into the team’s 2011-12 supplements program.

"I just have to say that it's been a difficult relationship that we the club, myself and the board have had with Andrew," Little said at the Bombers' season launch on Monday night.
"But in many ways he has turned the corner and I do need to say this. About six months ago we met and I needed to have his support to rebuild the Essendon footy club, I asked for his support and, in fairness to Andrew, he has given us that support ever since.
"I know there will be cynicism in the room tonight but I've got to tell you recently Andrew has been a big help and we look forward to finding out who his replacement may well be."
