Richmond champion Matthew Richardson will qualify for automatic AFL life membership on Sunday when he lines up against Hawthorn in the Round 20 clash at the MCG.

It will be the 300th official game for Richardson since his league debut with the Tigers in 1993.  He currently has played 273 premiership matches, along with 20 pre-season games, four State-of-Origin matches, and two International Rules matches.

‘Richo’ becomes just the eighth player to achieve this milestone exclusively with Richmond.

The other Tiger members of the AFL’s 300-game club are:

- Kevin Bartlett – 434
- Wayne Campbell – 330
- Jack Dyer – 326
- Francis Bourke - 321
- Dale Weightman – 317
- Matthew Knights – 309
- Jack Titus – 305

Richo also will join Dale Weightman in equal seventh place on Richmond’s all-time games list when he makes his 274th appearances for the Tigers, in Sunday’s match against the Hawks.
