That infamous sledge that ‘football is becoming like netball’ will be more relevant than normal this Sunday – at least before the Power v Hawks game starts anyway.

The Port Adelaide Football Club, through its partnership with Netball SA, is using Sunday’s game to promote physical activity for girls.

It will be involved in a range of promotions, including giving away double passes to Sunday’s 12.40pm game between the Power and Hawthorn for netballers aged 5 – 15.

To receive the free tickets, netballers need to arrive at the Power’s Planet Teal Zone (near Gate 4) on Sunday wearing their netball club colours. Or, they can catch the Planet Teal Zone when it comes to the netball. The Power’s new area for kids will also be set-up at the local netball at ETSA Park this Saturday, once again with plenty of Power giveaways for kids.

The ‘Power 22’ will have a different appearance on Sunday. The 22 youngsters who normally run onto the ground just before the real team do and practice their footy skills, will this week be made up of a combination of footballers and netballer, with the netballers practicing their netball on AAMI Stadium.

Port Adelaide is the match sponsor of the Adelaide Thunderbirds v Melbourne Phoenix game at ETSA Park on Friday night.

Planet Teal Zone will be set-up from 11am on Sunday and as well as the regular Power player visits and Power Funk Squad performances, Thunderbirds Tania Obst, Natalie Medhurst and Amanda Martin will be there.

The Power v Hawks clash is shown on four-hour delay on free-to-air television in Adelaide this weekend - just another reason to come along to AAMI Stadium and see the game live. Tickets are now available through BASS.
