MIDFIELDER Emma Kearney has capped a brilliant NAB AFL Women’s season by winning the Western Bulldogs’ best and fairest award.
Kearney polled 121 votes to win the award for the second straight year. Ellie Blackburn (114) and Kirsty Lamb (107) completed the top three.
The 28-year-old Kearney played in the Bulldogs’ premiership team, won the NAB AFLW best and fairest award, was named in the Virgin Australia AFLW All Australian team, and was joint-winner of the AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year award with Adelaide co-captain Chelsea Randall.
Brooke Lochland, who won the AFLW leading goalkicker award, was named the Bulldogs’ most improved player, Monique Conti took home the team’s best young player award, Kirsten McLeod won the coaches award, and Blackburn was named winner of the players’ award.
