Luke Ball once again comes in to the St Kilda side for the Saints’ Preliminary Final showdown against Hawthorn on Saturday night at the MCG.

The tenacious on-baller has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Round 18 but trained well over the last week and is set to make a comeback in St Kilda’s biggest game of the year to date.

Ball was added to the side last week but was a late withdrawal when the Saints decided not to risk him against the Pies. The decision looks to have paid dividends with Ball now having had an extra week to overcome any worries.

Jarryd Allen makes way for Ball after injuring his hip in the opening stages of last weekend’s Semi Final.

Matthew Drain, General Manager of Football at St Kilda said, “We welcome Luke back into the side again after another solid week of training. He was touch and go against Collingwood and we decided not to risk him.

“That call looks to have been justified as we’ve managed to work with Luke for another week and make sure he is right to go. He can’t wait to get out there.”

The Saints face Hawthorn for a spot in the Grand Final this Saturday night from 7:00pm at the MCG.
