OMEN(S)
The Collingwood banner was twice as big as St Kilda's - size matters! Speaking of which, there was clearly more Collingwood support in the ground. Then the Pies won the toss. All going one way. Didn't help in the end, though.

Omen for next week - last time we had a grand final replay, Collingwood lost to North Melbourne.

HERO
Brendon Goddard was outstanding all day, but his awesome mark in the last term - surely as good as any ever taken in the grand final - almost got the Saints over the line. He converted to give the Saints their first lead of the day, and finished with 31 possessions and two goals.

GOAT
Travis Cloke could have put the Saints away late in the second term, but two behinds in 50 seconds didn't do the job. He then kicked horribly into the forward 50 at the start of the third quarter and made it very hard for Chris Dawes to score.

OVERHEARD
"GO PIES!" About 15,000 Collingwood fans as they entered the ground.

"Wouldn't mind a free kick…" Saints fan at half time. (It was 11-8 to the Pies, so not much to complain about.)

LOST IN COMMENTARY
"The ball's going nowhere - you could throw a handkerchief on it!" ABC Radio's Drew Morphett in a very tense last term with the ball not coming out of a pack.

THE MOMENT THEY'LL REPLAY
Goddard's high-flying mark with 20 minutes gone in the last. Soared to the heavens, then kicked the goal that gave them the Saints the lead for the first time on the day.

THE MOMENT THEY SHOULD REPLAY
Nick Maxwell took a huge mark at half-back that ended in a Cloke goal that regained the lead.
