VIP guests, including Victorian Treasurer Kim Wells, Frankston City Mayor, Cr Kris Bolam JP, St Kilda Football Club President Greg Westaway and AFL Chief Operating Officer Gillon McLachlan, joined Number One Ticket Holder Eric Bana and Club sponsors to open the Saints’ fantastic new training and administration headquarters, the Linen House Centre at Frankston.
Captain Nick Riewoldt and members of the Saints leadership group led tours around the new complex, which boasts some of the most contemporary player facilities in the AFL and fantastic offices for administration staff.
Speaking at last nights opening, St Kilda Football Club President Greg Westaway, praised the facility and outlined his hopes that the state of the art Linen House Centre will help the team reach new heights of success.
“The Linen House Centre will ensure that the Saints can stay at the cutting-edge of the AFL and continue to build on the success that we’ve had over recent years,” he said.
Victorian Treasurer, Kim Wells, expressed that the Victorian Government was very proud to have contributed 3.45 million dollars to the project and outlined that the move would benefit both the Club and the broader Frankston Community.
“For the people of Frankston, Linen House Centre not only brings a successful AFL club, but also more sporting opportunities.”
“We believe that projects like this build stronger links between the community, clubs and peak sporting organisations,” said Wells.
Frankston City Mayor, Kris Bolam, said the move was a positive for both the St Kilda Football Club and the Frankston community.
“Frankston is growing and we want St Kilda to be a part of that growth.”
