PICK 16 in next month's NAB AFL Draft has a special place in footy history.
Starting its life down at Kardinia Park, that well-travelled selection was the first future draft pick to be traded when Geelong handed it to Carlton last year in a swap for key defender Lachie Henderson.
But the Blues owned the pick for just a solitary week before sending it up to Sydney.
Carlton used the selection in a mega-trade, offloading a package of four picks to the Giants in exchange for Lachie Plowman, Jed Lamb, Liam Sumner, Andrew Phillips and pick No.8.
Indicative draft order: What picks will your club take to the draft
Still with us? Good. Because on Thursday, pick 16 found a new home further north again, at the Brisbane Lions.
In a deal which saw the Giants move up the draft order to second overall, they handed over picks three and 16 and got their hands on the Lions' picks two, 31, 51 and 60.
That's a total of 1868km covered for pick 16 to get from Geelong to the Gabba.
But with a week still remaining in the NAB AFL Trade Period, it might not have found its final resting place just yet.
