COLLINGWOOD have confirmed young forward Brad Dick will require a knee reconstruction after he sustained an injury in Saturday's NAB Challenge loss to West Coast in Albany.
The club released a statement on Monday afternoon saying Collingwood surgeon Julian Feller had confirmed Dick will require the reconstruction and will have surgery later this week.
Dick's knee was twisted in a tackle in the second quarter of the 33-point loss to the Eagles, and he appeared to be in significant pain as two trainers carried him up the race.
The 19-year-old emerging forward from Western Australia joins Sydney duo Nick Malceski and Kristin Thornton and Fremantle's Paul Hasleby as players who have already sustained season-ending knee injuries in the past two weeks.
The No.44 pick overall in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft broke through to play six matches last season before fading towards the end of the year.
