THE MATCH Review Panel has assessed Richmond defender Alex Rance for staging during Saturday's clash against Sydney, but will take no action against the star Tiger.
In the dying minutes of the third quarter of the Swans' nine-point win, Lance Franklin and Rance engaged in a shoving match with the Tiger awarded a free kick after going to ground.
The MRP said Franklin struck Rance in the "upper chest" and under the MRP's guidelines, the Panel said "any exaggeration of the contact that was made to Rance was not excessive".
The last person charged for staging was Jarrad Waite when he was playing for Carlton in round two, 2014.
Essendon's Leroy Jetta was the first player charged for staging in 2012, while Angus Monfries received a public warning in 2011 from then AFL football boss Adrian Anderson.
