PORT Adelaide coach Matthew Primus has refused to be drawn into speculation over the futures of veteran duo Kane Cornes and Daniel Motlop.

The saga involving Cornes took another twist on Sunday when his older brother, and retired Power champion, Chad, claimed on Adelaide radio FIVEaa that Primus wanted the club to pay out the remainder of the three-time best and fairest winner's two-year contract.

Chad also suggested newly appointed Power chief executive Keith Thomas had stepped in to put a halt to the plan, encouraging the club to work with Kane and help him find a role for him in the team, other than a tagger.

Kane Cornes was omitted from the team for the second time this season in round 22, adding to conjecture Port Adelaide would seek to trade him at the end of the season.

Cornes, 28, has vowed to refuse any trade if his name is brought up in next month's AFL exchange period.

He has been linked to both Adelaide and Greater Western Sydney.

Primus was reluctant to respond to Chad's comments following the club's fighting win over Melbourne at Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon.

"I know it [Cornes] is a topical name to talk about, but as far as I'm concerned Kane's got a two-year contract and he'll see that out," Primus said.

"I'm sick and tired of talking about it."

Primus didn't go as far as to say Motlop was also a required player at Alberton.

Motlop played one of his best games of the season in the eight-point win over the Demons, but is unlikely to be offered another contract with Port Adelaide next year.

The 29-year-old has already expressed an interest in playing on in 2012.

"Daniel and I have spoken about it [his future], but we haven't come to any conclusions," Primus said.

"We haven't come to any conclusions about anyone apart from Chad and 'Broges' [Dean Brogan], who have retired.

"I thought 'Motts' did some good stuff today. He was certainly up and about and used the ball [well], carried it and gave us another option to move the ball a bit quicker from the backline.

"It was one of his better games."

Port Adelaide will hold player reviews on Tuesday and Wednesday before the players leave for their post-season break on Thursday.

They will return for the start of pre-season training on November 3.
