The Match Review Panel has released its findings on all the incidents from round 23
The AFL wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed the weekend's matches. The following charges were laid:

Luke Hodge, Hawthorn, has been charged with a first offence for Making Reckless Contact with an Umpire ($2600 sanction) for making reckless contact with umpire Brett Rosebury during the first quarter of the Round 23 match between Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans, played at ANZ Stadium on Friday August 30, 2013.
In summary, he can accept a $1950 sanction with an early plea.
A first offence for making reckless contact with an umpire is a $2600 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a $1950 sanction.
Lance Franklin, Hawthorn, has been charged with a level two engaging in rough conduct offence (225 demerit points, two-match sanction), for engaging in rough conduct against Nick Malceski, Sydney Swans, during the second quarter of the Round 23 match between Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans, played at ANZ Stadium on Friday August 30, 2013.
In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
Based on the video evidence available and medical report from the Sydney Swans Football Club, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-match sanction.
Leigh Montagna, St Kilda, has been charged with a level two Striking offence (125 demerit points, one-match sanction) for striking Ryan Crowley, Fremantle, during the first quarter of the Round 23 match between St Kilda and Fremantle, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday August 31, 2013.
In summary, due to his previous poor record, his one-match sanction must remain at one-match, even with an early plea.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Fremantle Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has a bad record of 37.50 demerit points carried over within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 162.50 points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 121.88 points and a one-match sanction.
Matt Maguire, Brisbane Lions, has been charged with a level two Striking offence (125 demerit points, one-match sanction) for striking Steve Johnson, Geelong Cats, during the third quarter of the Round 23 match between the Brisbane Lions and the Geelong Cats, played at Simond Stadium on Saturday August 31, 2013.
In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early plea.

Other incidents assessed:
Contact between Hawthorn's Lance Franklin and the Sydney Swans' Heath Grundy from the from the fourth quarter of Friday's game was assessed. Franklin was leading for the ball and his left arm was being held by Grundy. As Franklin broke free of his opponent, he made high contact to Grundy. It was the view of the panel that the contact was accidental and no further action was required.
Contact between Port Adelaide's Domenic Cassisi and Carlton's Marc Murphy from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Cassisi tackled Murphy and held both of his arms in the tackle. The Port Adelaide player then slings Murphy around to the ground. After reviewing all available footage and receiving a medical report from the Carlton Football Club, it was the view of the panel the impact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
