Former Fitzroy player and Brownlow medallist Kevin Murray was the last player to be granted Legend status at the annual function two years ago.
He joined names such as Norm Smith, Jack Dyer, Ted Whitten, Leigh Matthews, Roy Cazaly, Gordon Coventry and Ron Barassi as those to achieve the coveted status.
Individuals are selected for Legend status if they "have caused the game to change significantly for the better".
The current number of inductees in the Hall of Fame is 239, with 23 Legends. There is a restriction that no more than 10 per cent of inductees be Legends.
The 2011 Hall of Fame inductees were Nathan Buckley, Mark Ricciuto, James Hird, Michael Voss, Horrie Gorringe and Tony Charlton.
The event will be held in Crown Casino's Palladium Room.
Stay tuned to AFL.com.au from 7pm AEST on Wednesday night for full coverage of the event, including a live chat with reporter Mark Macgugan from the venue, live SEN radio coverage, video highlights of the inductees as they're announced, and photos, bios and statistics on every inductee.
