PORT Adelaide small forward Daniel Motlop has won his way into the Dream Team squad for the May 10 Hall of Fame Tribute Match, hours after kicking seven goals in the Power’s 64-point win over Essendon on Sunday.

Motlop was one of three inclusions in the 30-man squad, which will be culled to a final 25-man team on the eve of the match. Adelaide’s Nathan Bassett and Western Bulldog Daniel Cross were the other players not in the original squad of 40, selected last month.

Seven Adelaide players are in the Dream Team, with Geelong the next best-represented club with four players. Daniel Kerr is among three West Coast players picked, despite his current suspension from home-and-away matches.

Simon Black (osteitis pubis), Chad Cornes (finger), Chance Bateman (hand) and Geelong captain Tom Harley are among the highest profile omissions, with St Kilda skipper Nick Riewoldt also missing with a knee injury.

Coach Mark Williams, assistant coach Neale Daniher and captain Andrew McLeod are the team's selection panel, with players from 11 clubs chosen to make up the squad.

Williams and Daniher will be joined by Guy McKenna (Collingwood), Tony Micale (West Coast), Danny Daly (North Melbourne) and Marcus Ashcroft (Brisbane Lions) as assistant coaches with David Hynes and David Arnfield to act as runners.

The team will gather in Melbourne for training at the MCG on Wednesday May 7 and Friday May 9, before the final team of 25 (18 plus seven interchange) is named the day before the game.
