JUST three clubs remain in the hunt for Brent Moloney, with the Brisbane Lions firming as his eventual destination.

Moloney's manager has given the biggest indication yet the former Demon will move interstate to continue his career, saying he is 'absolutely' prepared to move for a chance to restart his career.

Kaider's comments have strengthened since he told Gillette AFL Trade Radio on Thursday Moloney was open to moving interstate.

Moloney, who is an unrestricted free agent, is now the Lions' priority target in the Gillette AFL Free Agency Period.

Lions national talent manager Rob Kerr told Trade Radio on Thursday his club would look to Moloney if it failed to entice Kurt Tippett north.

Tippett rejected the Lions on Saturday, opting to work towards a trade to the Sydney Swans instead.

Moloney, 28, struggled under new coach Mark Neeld this year after earning 19 Brownlow votes and the club best and fairest in 2011.

"He would absolutely be prepared to move interstate. That's not a concern, he's a professional footballer and that's what happens in professional sport," Kaider told AFL.com.au.

"You may have to move especially with the game the way it is now. It's the nature of the business."

The Lions are one of three clubs to have expressed interest in Moloney.

Kaider said he was confident a deal could be secured before the end of this week.

"We're exploring (the Lions) and a couple of other options at the moment so we're just working through a bit of a process with a couple of teams other than the Lions," he said.

"We're hopeful we'll get a deal done this week."

Moloney has played 122 games for the Demons since he joined them in 2005. Previous to that he played 23 games for Geelong.
