- West Coast loses patience with midfielder Chris Masten
- Bombers James Kelly and Darcy Parish out with injury
- Collingwood adds father/son Callum Brown to squad

WEST Coast coach Adam Simpson has made a statement at selection after back-to-back defeats, dropping established midfielder Chris Masten for Saturday's clash against Gold Coast.

The Eagles have made three changes for the trip to Metricon Stadium, recalling defender Eric Mackenzie for his first game since round one, as well as midfielder Luke Shuey and forward Mark LeCras.

Star forward Josh Kennedy is unavailable because of a calf injury and youngster Malcolm Karpany also makes way, with Masten omitted for the first time in Simpson's reign as coach.

Both Masten and Karpany have been named as emergencies, with doubt remaining over the fitness of both Shuey (calf) and LeCras (hip).

The Suns have made two changes, with superstar Gary Ablett returning after missing one match with a shoulder injury alongside former Eagle Matt Rosa.

Young pair Brayden Fiorini and Brad Scheer have been omitted.

Geelong has made two changes for Friday night's crunch clash against Adelaide, with defender Tom Lonergan and small forward Nakia Cockatoo replacing Jed Bews (ankle) and Jordan Cunico (omitted). Adelaide has named an unchanged team.

Essendon has lost young midfielder Darcy Parish to a calf injury and James Kelly to a groin complaint ahead of Saturday's clash against Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium.

The Bombers have also dropped Matt Dea, recalling veteran Brent Stanton, midfielder Ben Howlett and speedster Martin Gleeson.

GWS will be without star goalkicker Steve Johnson and tall forward Rory Lobb for another week, with neither recalled to take on the Bombers.

The Giants have made one change, with midfielder Tom Scully returning after one week sidelined with a knee complaint, replacing defender Tim Mohr.

Richmond will go into Saturday night's clash against North Melbourne with just one key forward after dropping Todd Elton and bringing back small forward Dan Butler after two weeks sidelined with groin soreness.

The Kangaroos have named an unchanged 22 as they aim to continue a strong recent record against the Tigers that includes seven wins from the teams' past eight clashes.

Fremantle has dropped midfielder Danyle Pearce for Sunday's clash against Collingwood at Domain Stadium and will regain ruckman Aaron Sandilands.

Draftee Luke Ryan, who is yet to make his debut, has been named in the squad, alongside defender Tom Sheridan and midfielder Ed Langdon on the extended bench.

The Magpies have dropped Jarryd Blair, with fellow small forward Alex Fasolo unavailable as he takes time out to treat a mental health condition.

Father-son selection Callum Brown is in the mix to make his debut after being named in the 25-man squad, with fellow inclusions Henry Schade, Jackson Ramsay, Ben Crocker and Mason Cox all selected on the seven-man bench.
