FOR ALL their on-field woes this year, the Bombers' home crowds have held up well as fans have continued to show their support for James Hird's beleaguered men.

Nearly 39,000 saw their round 15 win over Melbourne at the MCG, an impressive number given the dire weather that day and with finals well out of reach of both clubs.

The Dons hold the AFL's longest current streak for home crowds over 30,000 (excluding finals). However that streak might be under threat this Saturday night when they face another team looking set for a barren September - Port Adelaide.

While the game will be played under the roof at Etihad Stadium, forecast showers might keep crowd numbers low, unless the chance to 'remind' Paddy Ryder of his off-season defection drag a few extra red and black die-hards through the gates.

Check out who else is challenging history this weekend.
