Geelong's VFL unit has acquired former Sydney Swans first round draft pick Dan O’Keefe and ex-Cat rookie Bryn Weadon for the 2010 season.

O’Keefe, a former Geelong Falcon originally from Warrnambool, is an evasive left footer and prolific ball winner who combines composure, evasiveness, and strength above his head into one combined package. He failed to make his debut with Sydney after struggling with injuries.

Weadon spent last year on the Cats rookie list but suffered an injury interrupted year. Known for his skill and toughness, Weadon was the TAC Cup leading possession getter in 2008 playing for the North Ballarat Rebels.

Both players had been training with the Cats since early November.

The Bendigo Bank Cats have also announced that former Cats VFL player and local football star Warwick Knuckey will take on an assistant coaching role with the team in 2010. Knuckey has previously been involved in a coaching role with South Barwon in the Geelong Football League combining with current VFL coach Dale Amos for numerous premierships.
