Despite being barely able to see through the heavy rain, draftee Cameron Delaney jogged around the boundary while Robbie Tarrant and Daniel Pratt attempted some short sprints into a howling gale.

Assistant coach Darren Crocker was another to cop the brunt of Melbourne’s inclement weather as the majority of the club’s players watched on from inside with little sympathy for their saturated teammates.
