SYDNEY Swan Sam Reid made his comeback from a hamstring injury in the NEAFL on Friday at the SCG, collecting 12 disposals and kicking a goal.

He hurt the muscle in his right leg in the second quarter of last year's qualifying final loss to Fremantle.

A reoccurrence in an intraclub match in February set him back further.

Swans NEAFL coach Rhyce Shaw told AFL.com.au Reid played about 80 minutes of the game.

"(He) seems to have pulled up OK," Shaw said.

"He was probably a little bit rusty but that's fair enough, because he hasn't played since last year.

The Swans ran out 59-point victors against Sydney University, their eighth win of the season extending their unbeaten start.

"(Reid) played up forward and had a little bit of a run on the wing, but that was just to get a different feel for game," Shaw said.

"He looked to move really well, so that was really good."
