Port Adelaide continued its search for a mature ruckman on day three of the exchange period, with the club confirming it has held talks with Sydney’s Mark Seaby.

Seaby, 27, is one of several experienced ruckmen the club has been in talks with in recent weeks. Fremantle’s Jonathan Griffin is another that has been linked to the Power with football operations manager Peter Rohde saying Griffin “hasn’t been ruled out yet”.

Seaby or Griffin would provide support to the developing Matthew Lobbe, who shouldered much of the ruck work while veteran Dean Brogan was out with an injury.

“As we’ve said all along we’re in the market for a mature ruckman and Mark Seaby is someone who fits that bill,” Rohde said.

“We’ve held talks with him and a number of other ruckmen about the possibility of playing here. A couple of trades took place today and we expect that to have a flow-on effect around the league with a few more deals falling into place over the next few days.”

Negotiations between West Coast and Port Adelaide over a deal that would see Brad Ebert re-united with cousin Brett at Alberton continued on day three.

“We’re confident of striking a deal with West Coast to get Brad here,” Rohde said.

Confirmed deals on day three:
Adelaide trade Jack Gunston, pick 53 and 71 to Hawthorn for pick 24, 46 and 64

GC Suns trade pick 4 and 2010 mid first round compensation pick (received for Gary Ablett) to GWS for pick 1 in the GWS mini-draft and pick 31
