GREATER Western Sydney teenager Jeremy Cameron will develop into an "almost unstoppable" key forward, according to former Richmond spearhead Matthew Richardson.
Richardson has taken a close look at Cameron for this week's edition of The Whiteboard, and believes he might just be the biggest talent on a Giants list dripping with potential.
"He will one day take hold of this game and become one of the best forwards in the AFL," Richardson said.
"Marking is obviously a huge strength of Jeremy Cameron's game.
"He's taking five marks a game in his first season of AFL footy and that's a big achievement considering GWS don't have a huge amount of inside 50s.
"He's got a good turn of speed and can get away from his opponents on the lead."
The Richmond great concedes Cameron needs to add about "six or seven kilos" to his lean frame before he will be able to truly compete with the AFL's best defenders.
But he feels that in Cameron and Jonathon Patton, the Giants already have the pieces in place for a bright future.
"If you can build a team around two big key forwards, you're going a long way to winning games of footy," Richardson said.
"Cameron might be raw now, but once he gains the body to go with his natural ability and great talent … he's going to be almost unstoppable.
"The Giants possess a large contingent of extremely promising youngsters, but Jeremy Cameron may just be the best of the lot."
Richardson finished with 800 goals in his stellar career, including a career-best 10 against the Western Bulldogs in 2004.
And he has no doubt Cameron will soon be helping himself to some big bags of goals.
"Every key forward needs to show the ability to kick goals and Jeremy Cameron has already shown the ability to kick a bag in a team that is really struggling to kick goals," he said.
"This guy could kick some big bags in the future."
