Tony Armstrong will make his AFL debut for Adelaide in Sunday's round one clash with Fremantle.

The 20-year-old half-back, drafted at the end of 2007, has been confirmed in the 22 after the thumb injury to Graham Johncock. The emergencies are Ivan Maric, Will Young and Jarrhan Jacky.

The team includes Bernie Vince, Scott Thompson, Tyson Edwards, Andrew McLeod and Nathan van Berlo, who did not play against Carlton in the club's last pre-season hit-out.

Adelaide trains from 10.30am at Subiaco on Saturday and the game starts at 5.10pm local time on Sunday.
