While the St Kilda Football Club is based in Melbourne’s south east, we have a wide and dedicated network of supporters throughout Australia.

Recently, our Launceston Supporters Group took it upon themselves to make a positive change within their local community.

The group supports Appin Hall Children’s Foundation founded by Ronnie Burns and Time-Out House, a retreat that aims to prevent youth suicide.

Working alongside Bunnings Hardware in Kingsmeadows, the Launceston St Kilda Supporters Group and Bunnings kindly donated an array of gifts and vouchers to both community organisations.

Appin Hall received a six burner barbecue while Time-Out was presented with a seven-piece garden setting for their program house.

Appin Hall founder Ronnie Burns said, “The barbecue is so good for us because we have so many children - we have upped our accommodation to accommodate 35 kids and their carers at any one time.”

Time-Out House Training Coordinator Lisa Cook said, “We are not at all government funded so we rely on organisations like the St Kilda Supporters Group and Bunnings.

“It is enormous for us to receive things like this.”

President of the St Kilda Launceston Supporters Group Mr. Robert Anderson said that the Group had originally planned to buy the items to present to each charity. However upon approaching Bunnings, the company generously offered to provide them as a donation.

The St Kilda Football Club wishes to acknowledge the tremendous work undertaken by the Launceston Supporters Group, not only in supporting our Club, but by making a difference in their local community. We would also like to thank Bunnings for their generosity and hope that Appin Hall and Time-Out House find great uses for their new additions.
