SUMMARY
The Cats will be eager to atone for their fadeout against Adelaide last weekend. Chris Scott's men have everything to play for, as they can't afford to drop another game if they're to finish in the top two and earn a home qualifying final. The Saints, on the other hand, have little to play for other than pride. It is now quite clear that they are a team in transition, with the next couple of seasons set to be barren.

THE SIX POINTS
1. Tom Hawkins kicked six goals in the teams' most recent meeting in round 21 last season. Hawkins has been down on form in recent weeks, so he will be hoping for a repeat of that effort.
2. This will be the 209th clash between the sides. The Cats hold a clear advantage, having won 126 games to 82.
3. The last time these sides met at Simonds Stadium was in round 18, 2004, when the Cats snuck home by seven points. Overall, Geelong has hosted the Saints 57 times at Simonds Stadium, with the Cats winning 43 of those matches.
4. St Kilda last won at Simonds Stadium in round 10, 1999. Only one player remains on the Saints' list who played in that game, Lenny Hayes.
5. Geelong is the No. 1 team in the competition for inside-50s this season, averaging 57.9 per game. St Kilda is ranked 16th with 45.9 per game.
6. Cats skipper Joel Selwood jumped back into the top three in the Official AFL Player Ratings after collecting 22 possessions and booting three goals in his team's narrow loss to Adelaide. Selwood's effort equated to 23.5 player ratings points, which was the fifth-best score of the round. St Kilda's top-rated player is midfielder Jack Steven, who began the season in 64th place but has climbed to 21st after a string of standout performances.
