Perth Football Club seeks expressions of interest to join our exciting youthful club in the role of Pathways Development Officer.
The key focus for this role includes:
Football Operations
• Management and implementation of player development programs (14’s, 15’s, 16’s and colts) to ensure the optimal development of the participants;
• Ensure the delivery of all player development programs meet the minimum standards criteria and agreed timelines as outlined by the WAFC High Performance team.
Resource and People Management
• The identification and development of quality resources;
• The identification and development of suitably qualified staff;
• Development of a true district centre of excellence;
• Strong focus on the welfare and well being of youth age athletes.
Financial Management
• Management of budget in accordance with forecasts.
Human Resource Management
• Management of part time and volunteer staff so that the recruitment, retention, and performance of staff all contribute positively to the conduct of the player development program.
Marketing and Communication
• The marketing and promotion of WAFL club programs to generate revenue and public awareness.
Relationship Development
• Development of positive relationships with stakeholders (AFL and WAFL clubs, community football groups and relevant school personnel) so that the player development program objectives can be achieved.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO UNDERTAKE THE POSITION: (Essential and desirable)
• Degree in related field eg. teaching, sports management, business (E).
• Demonstrated leadership skills (E).
• Highly developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills (E).
• . Experience in working in talented athlete programs, and a sound understanding of the development of talented youth footballers (E).
• Experience in working with young men (E).
• Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively in a team environment (E).
• Sound knowledge of the football industry (E).
• Demonstrated knowledge of WAFC Player Pathway programs (D).
• Knowledge of the football structure in WA (D).
• Counselling skills (D).
