North Melbourne supporters received an early Christmas gift on Saturday as perfect weather greeted them for the club's annual Family Day.

Thousands turned out at the club's traditional home at Arden Street to have a photo taken with their favourite player, meet the club's new recruits and enjoy the sunshine.

Rides and activities on the oval kept the kids smiling, while the membership and merchandise tents were busy as fans sought presents for their loved ones.

A big queue awaited autographs from Hamish McIntosh and Brent Harvey, and Ben Warren enjoyed plenty of attention from his followers. Also signing away vigorously was former Eagle Ben McKinley who has already become a popular player at his new club.

The arrival of a special guest, Santa Claus made for an exciting surprise for the younger ones, but perhaps the biggest cheers of all were saved for the presentation of the players who gave high-fives as they made their way through the crowd to the main stage.

Drew Petrie received a huge ovation as he ran to the stage looking as fit as ever, while Brad Scott also earned a rousing reception.

"I can't underestimate just how much the players and the coaching staff appreciate your support," Scott told the crowd.

Supporters and players alike sung loud and proud as the club's theme song billowed over the speakers to end the day on a high note.
