ADAM Goodes has targeted a return from his latest kneeinjury in the Sydney Swans' clash with cross-town rivals Greater Western Sydneyin just over two weeks' time.
Goodes hurt the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) in hisright knee during last Saturday's loss to Port Adelaide and was substituted outof the game at three-quarter time.
He was then ruled out of Friday night's game againstCarlton, adding his name to a lengthening injury list for the premiers thatincludes Sam Reid, Lewis Jetta, Shane Mumford, Lewis Roberts-Thomson and RhyceShaw.
The 33-year-old Goodes has since taken to Twitter to revealhe could also miss next week's trip to the MCGto face Melbourne, aiming to return the following week against the Giants atthe SCG.
The SCG's official Twitter account posed a question toGoodes earlier on Thursday asking how his knee had settled down and when hewould be back playing at his home ground.
"Knee going well," he responded. "I will becherry ripe for our next game @scg against our cross town rivals."
Goodes has had a history of knee issues, playing on in lastyear's Grand Final and helping the Swans across the line despite a serious PCLinjury suffered during the game.
He avoided surgery and recovered in time to make the startingline for round one this year, playing all 12 games to date and kicking 20goals.
Goodes also suffered a knee injury back in the 2004 seasonthat spelled the end of his days as a ruckman.
The former club captain suggests he could sit out the next twogames, including Friday's important clash with the Blues, when the Swans willtry to rebound from the loss to the Power that knocked them out of the top four.
Swans physio Matt Cameron told the club website earlier thisweek Goodes' injury wasn't too serious.
"He jarred his knee chasing the ball over towards theboundary line in the Port game," Cameron said.
"He has pulled up a bit sore, it won't take long tosettle down, there's no new damage in there.
"We're hopeful he'll be back running by next week."
The dual Brownlow medallist is contracted until the end ofthe 2014 season.
