Adams underwent a fitness test prior to North training on Friday at Aegis Park with medical services director Steve Saunders keeping a close eye on his progress.

He went through a series of sprints before leaving the track early and did not join the main group's reasonably light 45-minute training session.
"Leigh, we wanted to give right up until the last minute. We may make a decision today, but we may leave it until tomorrow as well," Scott said before training on Friday.
Scott also said star midfielder Jack Ziebell should be fit to take his place in the side, but that he would not be risked if he was not 100 per cent.
Key defender Nathan Grima, fresh off his first goal in AFL football, has already been ruled out with a foot concern.
"It's certainly weakened our forward line not having [Grima] up there, or so he thinks anyway," Scott said with a laugh.
"He's a loss for us because of the exuberance and life he brings to our team, as well."
Scott said the club was hopeful Grima would be fit to face Collingwood in round 23.
Veteran Roo Michael Firrito returns for his first game since round 16, an important defensive link with Scott Thompson and Grima sidelined.
"He (Firrito) hasn't been out of favour, there's just been others ahead of him."
"We think he's a really good player for us… so it's just been a function of having other players ahead of him. He's been in really good form in the VFL, so he's ready to play."
Scott said a decision on Firrito – who is out of contract at the end of this season – would be made at the end of the year.
"It's a decision you've got to weigh up at the end of the year, in terms of, how's his body? How's his motivation to play? All those things have got to be weighed up, so we're in no great rush with Michael. It will be a decision that he and I both come to, mutually."
Another Roo out-of-contract at the end of the season is emerging key defender Luke Delaney and the responsibility will fall on him to contain dangerous Hawks forwards Lance Franklin and Jarryd Roughead.
"We know there's no shortage of stars in that Hawthorn forward line so they're [the backline] going to have to be at their best and they're going to have to work together.
"He gets his chance and we always say to our players, 'when you get your chance, you've always got to be able to take it'. And he's well prepared to take that chance."
