MELBOURNE has secured five new sponsors for 2011.
The Demons have landed partnerships with New Balance, Peter Werth, Glass Assist, Officeworks and WTC Wharf and the Wharf Hotel.
Melbourne chief executive Cameron Schwab said it was important to have new sponsor partners for the immediate and long-term future of the club.
“It is very exciting to welcome our new sponsors to the club and I trust we can repay their faith with strong on field results and great support for their own businesses,” he said.
The sponsors:
NEW BALANCE: Melbourne welcomes New Balance as its official apparel partner for at least the next three years. The club and New Balance have been working together for more than a year developing the new on-field range to maximise performance.
Just as importantly, the range has been designed so that our members can wear our colours and emblem with pride. Visit the Demon Shop for all your New Balance club gear http://www.melbournefc.com.au/portals/59/melbourne_shop.html.
Also, watch out for the New Balance advertising campaign featuring James Frawley, which includes a fully branded tram and billboard on the top of Young and Jacksons.
PETER WERTH: Peter Werth is a fashion label established in London in 1975. It started as a specialist in knitwear, but now it produces a smart/casual collection, which covers all product areas, footwear and accessories.
This season, club staff will be dressed in Peter Werth clothing on match day and players will wear it at official formal club events. The Peter Werth brand is exclusive to Myer and has been brought to Australia by the business Great British Apparel (GBA), which started in 2009. GLASS ASSIST: Glass assist has been elevated to silver partner status in 2011, following its increased sponsorship commitment. Last year, Glass Assist fielded a very enthusiastic team in our ‘Play for Melbourne’ corporate curtain-raiser, before the Essendon match on the MCG.
It will also participate before the Richmond clash in round 22 this year. Glass Assist is an automotive glazing business and entirely owned subsidiary of Club Assist Corporation. Club Assist is an Australian based company, which provides services to motoring organisations worldwide. It supplies mobile replacement services for automotive glass, batteries, alternators and starter motors. For more information visit http://www.glassassist.com.au/
OFFICEWORKS: Officeworks have signed on as a first time sponsor with the club for the 2011 season. A major component of their sponsorship will be as a program partner for our ‘Read and Write like a Demon’ literacy programs, which the club delivers in the City of Casey and City of Bayside.
The club is excited to welcome onboard a well-known and respected brand such as Officeworks. The club and Officeworks share the same values and vision with regards to community and improving the education of young children. For further information go to www.officeworks.com.au
WTC WHARF (World Trade Centre) and the Wharf Hotel: WTC Wharf is Melbourne’s new entertainment precinct situated on the banks of the Yarra River, opposite the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre. WTC Wharf, The Wharf Hotel and Melbourne are excited to announce a three-year sponsorship deal from 2011-13.
Located on the corner of Spencer and Flinders St, WTC Wharf offers club members great entertainment, discounted prices on food and beverages at their venues, and a great meeting place for our supporters before and after Melbourne matches. Venues include:
The Wharf Hotel, Byblos Bar and Restaurant, River’s Edge Events (premium event space) and seafood restaurant and oyster bar Wilson’s Boathouse (opening in April).
