FREMANTLE and West Coast are still hopeful of returning home following the conclusion of their round five matches.

The two sides relocated to Melbourne due to the hard border in Western Australia with the understanding it would be for a three-week period due to the external work and family commitments of players, coaches and support staff.

That three-week period is now drawing to a close, with Fremantle due to play North Melbourne in Tasmania on Sunday, and West Coast with a final match against St Kilda on Tuesday.

Earlier this week, West Coast CEO Trevor Nisbett said the club believed the AFLW side would return on February 8, the date of the Saints game.

Carlton and Collingwood are scheduled to play Fremantle and West Coast respectively in round six, and both clubs told womens.afl they are in a holding pattern and in the dark as to who their opponent will be next weekend.

All four clubs said they are working with through the situation with the AFL.

The AFL said it would continue to be led by and work with respective state government and health officials.
